Anaphylaxis for Healthcare Providers

This course provides community healthcare providers who are expected to deal with an anaphylactic reaction during their usual clinical role with the knowledge, skills and confidence to recognise a person suffering from anaphylaxis and provide appropriate emergency treatment, including the administration of adrenaline.

The course is delivered in accordance with the Resuscitation Council UK (2008) Emergency treatment of anaphylactic reactions: Guidelines for healthcare providers.

Pre-course Requirements

Students attending this course must be proficient in basic life support. Where this is not the case, arrangements can be made for basic life support to be incorporated into the anaphylaxis session.

Assessment & certification

Continuous assessment.

Successful students receive a certificate valid for 1 year.
